A world shaped by time and memory —
open to a few.
"Nothing was placed.
Everything was chosen."
Living Wunderkammer is not a conventional place. It is a private residence shaped over decades through passion, research and an unrelenting curiosity for the world.
Set within a former cinema in an Art Déco building in the heart of Basel, the residence unfolds across carefully composed spaces, anchored by a dramatic double-height salon illuminated by a large skylight.
Each room reveals a different facet of the same story. Objects, artworks and furnishings gathered across Europe and Asia coexist without hierarchy — not as a curated exhibition, but as a natural accumulation shaped over time. The house belongs to Andreas Häner, a collector who continues to live here.

Part guided visit, part personal encounter
Andreas guides guests through the Living Wunderkammer — room by room, object by object — sharing the stories behind each piece: where it came from, what it meant, and why it stayed. The evening includes a curated aperitivo, unhurried conversation, and the rare privilege of experiencing a private collection through the eyes of its collector.
Where light and music slow time
As evening falls, the Living Wunderkammer transforms. Warm candlelight and live music reshape the space into something intimate and deeply sensory. Throughout the evening, the house reveals itself through the voice of its collector — while light draws attention to every detail.
Where food, art and atmosphere become inseparable
A private chef prepares and serves a curated multi-course menu, transforming the space into an intimate and refined setting. The presence of the collector enriches the experience, creating a rare moment where food, art and conversation naturally intertwine. For those who understand that the finest meals are not only about what is served — but where, and with whom.
Where the house is not only seen — but lived
A stay within the Living Wunderkammer — where the experience moves beyond a place to sleep and becomes something deeply personal. Guests are welcomed into a private residence shaped by art, memory and personal vision, sharing moments with the collector in a natural and unforced way. Not a curated experience, but a lived one.
